A mere eight miles separate the clubs, and while the Blues are annual visitors to Westleigh Park during pre-season, they’ve never met their non-league neighbours in a senior competitive match.

All that could change this evening, though, with just 40 teams remaining before both Premier League and Championship clubs join the race to be crowned 2021 Cup winners in the third round.

Pompey booked their passage into the second round with a 3-2 win after extra-time at Ipswich.

Meanwhile, the Hawks, who have come through four rounds to get to this stage, beat Cray Valley Paper Mills 1-0 in round one.

When will the draw take place and how can we follow it?

The draw for the second round of the Emirates FA Cup will take tonight (November 9).

It will be screened live on the FA’s official Twitter, Facebook and Youtube accounts as well as BT Sport.

It’s scheduled to take place at around 7.10pm – just before BT Sport’s coverage of the one remaining first-round tie between Bishop's Stortford and St Albans City.

Former Lincoln City and Huddersfield Town manager Danny Cowley will be drawing the balls.

What is Pompey’s ball number in the draw?

Pompey will be ball number 37.

Other interesting ball numbers to look out for.

As mentioned, the Hawks could be possible opponents for Pompey and they’re in the hat as ball number 2.

The only other time they made it this far in the competition was in 2007, when they beat Notts County 1-0 at Meadow Lane on their way to a memorable trip to Liverpool in the fourth round.

Other numbers: Peterborough (5), Bradford City (7), Salford (26), King's Lynn Town (38), Canvey Island (40).

When will first-round games be played?

Second-round ties will be held across the weekend of November 27-30.

Pompey are at home to Oxford United on the Tuesday night (November 24) leading up to the scheduled second-round ties date.

They are then due to travel to Blackpool on Tuesday, December 1.

What’s the prize money for winning a first-round tie?

Second-round winners will receive £34,000 for progressing to the next round – a figure that could be added to depending on TV coverage.

The Blues picked up an additional £32,500 after their game against the Tractor Boys was selected for live multi-camera coverage on the BBC and BT Sport digital platforms.
