After the EFL’s statement yesterday, clubs will next week choose whether to fulfil all remaining fixtures or curtail the 2019-20 campaign with league positions finalised by a points-per-game measure.
The EFL's preference is to complete remaining games – and that’s a standpoint Pompey have taken.
It’ll take 51 per cent of votes, or 12 clubs, to decide whether to finish remaining matches or bring a premature end to the season.
So we’ve taken a look a which teams are set to vote for playing out the campaign, those who are against it and the sides still sitting on the fence. Scroll down and click through the pages below...
1. AFC Wimbledon - on the fence
The Wombles haven’t released their stance in public. However, they asked for season-ticket holders not to claim refunds for remaining games, which implies they may want to curtail the season for financial reasons. Photo: Alex Burstow
2. Accrington - against
There’s only one way Stanley will be voting. Andy Holt has been a staunch supporter of ending the campaign, saying starting League One games behind closed doors would be a 'suicide mission'. Photo: Dave Howarth
3. Blackpool - on the fence
The club have yet to make any official stance on how the season should be concluded. But, given the Seasiders are 13th and have little to play for, the Blackpool Gazette reports they're unlikely to cause too much of a fuss whatever is eventually decided. Photo: Richard Sellers
4. Bolton - on the fence
With a null and void option officially off the table, the Trotters will be relegated regardless of the vote given they’re 21 points from safety. Bolton will have to weigh up whether the price of completing games is worth it. Photo: Daniel Chesterton
