In terms of the most emphatic scorelines under Jackett, it also matched the 5-1 demolition of Bradford in March 2019.

That would be the sole occasion in 2017-18 that they registered more than three goals in a game as they claimed eighth place upon their League One return.

In 2018-19, a campaign which saw Pompey leading the table for three-and-a-half month, there were six scorelines of four goals-plus.

These consisted of Gillingham and Maidenhead in cup competitions, in addition to Oxford (4-1) and Fleetwood (5-2) in the league.

As previously mentioned, Bradford (5-1) were taken apart in March 2019, while Rochdale (4-1) suffered a Fratton Park loss the following month.

This season has now seen Jackett’s side put four past opposition twice in a month.

Firstly, there was the 4-2 success at Burton at the start of October, with Marcus Harness helping himself to a hat-trick.

Then there was Tuesday – with Harness again among the scorers, along with Marquis (two) and Curtis against Northampton.
