Kenny Jackett explains why he named Portsmouth full-strength side in Ipswich FA Cup win amid two injuries sustained
The Blues were unchanged from their 3-1 win at Lincoln earlier in the week.
That's despite sections of supporters calling for the boss to rest some of his key players in order to prioritise a League One promotion push amid a condensed season.

The first-round tie went all the way to extra-time, with Pompey picking up a 3-2 victory.
Yet they lost Andy Cannon to a groin injury in the first half and he's set to be ruled out for a number of weeks.
Callum Johnson also suffered a dead leg but shouldn't be out for too long.

Hide AdBecause Pompey's next league game at Plymouth isn't until Monday, November 16, Jackett thought that would be too long of a break for his first-team players to not play a competitive game.
And with the Blues facing West Ham under-21s in the Papa John's Trophy on Tuesday, it gives him an opportunity to give some of his fringe players like Jordy Hiwula, Paul Downing and James Bolton an opportunity.
Jackett said: ‘It is a balance. Fair play to Ipswich but, from my point of view, we don't play for nine days in the league so that swayed my decision.
‘If we'd have gone from last Tuesday at Lincoln to Plymouth a week on Monday, that is 13 days without playing.

‘You do risk injuries and I do understand that but we want to try to progress in the cup and we have done that.
‘Nobody who was involved at Ipswich on Saturday will play. That will be the case, we have to.
‘We have a little bit of a gap before we go down to Plymouth.’

Hide AdPompey were cruising to victory at Ipswich when they went 2-0 ahead inside 15 minutes through Ronan Curtis' free-kick and a Tom Naylor strike.
They continued to dominate the first half but couldn't add to their tally.
The Tractor Boys gave themselves a lifeline minutes before the break when Jon Nolan netted.
That meant the hosts came out for the second period with their tails up and James Norwood notched Ipswich's equaliser.

And it was Sean Raggett who proved Pompey’s hero, poking home a winner in the 111th minute – even though he appeared offside.
Jackett added: ‘Ipswich are a great team and a great club who are going to come back at you.
‘You always want to go and win 3-0 or 4-0 away from home but that was never going to be the case on Saturday.

‘If you look at the chances throughout the game, we probably had more than the opposition and I am encouraged by that . That's a big thing and we have the ability to score goals.’
