Jackett recruited McGee from Spurs for an undisclosed fee in July 2017, with the keeper making 50 appearances during his maiden campaign.

Pompey’s boss, however, retains faith in McGee’s talent and believes he will comfortably find new employers.
Jackett told The News: ‘Luke is out of contract and we are not renewing it.
‘He was on loan at Bradford, that was his last club, and, with them not involved in the League Two play-offs, they have stopped that.

‘I thought he had a very, very good season the first year he was here. However, Craig coming in and then Alex developing through our youth policy, has just edged him out. That’s a strong department for us at the moment.
‘He’s a good goalkeeper and young as well for a keeper, there won’t be any problems for him in terms of his career and picking up a club.
‘I’m sure he will do a good job elsewhere. He is still young, but has quite a number of league games under his belt.
