During an unconvincing attacking performance from the Blues, they played out a goalless draw with their League One promotion rivals this evening.

Having fallen behind to Barrie McKay’s 18th-minute goal, Sean Raggett levelled to ensure it was 1-1 at the interval.

Than Harry Souttar netted past his own keeper to gift Pompey the lead – only to then equalise in the right goal seven minutes later.

The result lifts Pompey into fourth and Fleetwood fifth following Sunderland’s 2-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers.

And while Jackett recognised defensive issues, he felt the outcome was deserved.

He said: ‘I felt both sides had 20-minute spells of being on top and looking like they were going to win the game.

‘They got the first goal and I was pleased with the comeback and then going 2-1 up – then we’ve conceded from a set-piece.

‘It is what it is, you are always going for three points and looking towards the end of the season and playing against a side one place below us.

‘We are obviously going for three, but in the end it is one and we have to move on to Saturday.

‘But there are parts of our game we have to get right, there is a pressure on us and we have to accept that and embrace it.

‘We can’t be too open and undo ourselves too early in the game. We must also value good defensive play to be able to play from behind the ball and build up constructively to the wide areas.’
