The Pompey legend has been put on furlough at full pay along with the players and vast majority of staff at Fratton Park.
And Knight has reacted by joining the team dedicated to helping the NHS and care sector during the coronavirus crisis.

Hide AdThe process works by downloading the GoodSam responder app and then volunteering for nearby services.
Knight explained he felt it was a useful way of putting his time to good use when the health service is being placed under immense strain.
He said: ‘I’m on the scheme and I’ve volunteered, but not yet been called in. Hopefully I’m using the app right!
‘It’s not something I’m doing to get a pat on the back.
‘But with the furlough situation I felt it was something I could do - and it also gives me something to do.

Hide Ad‘I’m on call at the moment and waiting to hear if and when I’ll be needed.
‘The app alerts you when you’re needed and tells you what you need to do.
‘I said I’d deliver whatever’s needed, be that medical gear or prescriptions to people who can’t get out.
‘If things are peaking in a couple of weeks’ time that may be when they really need people, but it’s up and running and ready to go.’

Communities are taking steps to help those isolated and in need at a difficult time for the country - and Pompey have also been doing their bit along the way.
Pompey in the Community have been delivering food parcels along with Hive Portsmouth, who’ve been co-ordinating the community response.
Knight added: ‘The club is doing their bit with Clare (Martin) delivering food parcels.
