However, the action will take place behind closed doors due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak – meaning the Fratton faithful will have to watch from home.

Eisner told of his sympathy that supporters won’t be allowed to rally behind their side inside PO4.

The American will also be forced to take in the action from his California home.

But he insists the Blues are ‘ready to go’ in their quest to return to the second tier.

‘But I just wanted to thank the fans for the sacrifices they’ve made during this pandemic, being isolated and not having football.

‘I want to thank Pompey in the Community and the club for all the work they've done during this difficult period around Portsmouth.

‘I particularly want to thank our management with Mark (Catlin), Kenny (Jackett), the coaches and the squad for hanging in there and training so well for the two weeks coming up for the play-offs. We have the whole squad together and we’re ready to go.

‘I wish I could be with you. I will be watching on ESPN – that’s not as good as being in the stands for me and for you.

‘Nevertheless, it is play-off time and I want to be in the Championship and want to win.

‘I want to wish all the fans and all the players good luck coming up this weekend and I wish I was there.

‘I wish I could be with you – Play Up Pompey!’
