The Republic of Ireland international returned to the training ground on Sunday after a period of self-isolation.

He subsequently took part in full training with his team-mates on Monday, catching the eye of Kenny Jackett.

Curtis now goes into Pompey’s squad for tonight’s visit of struggling AFC Wimbledon (7pm), along with new loan recruit Harvey White.

Now back available for selection, the winger will challenge Michael Jacobs for a place on the left of the Blues’ midfield.

And Jackett has been encouraged by Curtis’ fitness upon his return.

He said: ‘Ronan’s fine, he feels okay and there are no problems at all.

‘He couldn’t train during self-isolation, but he came back on Sunday, and then yesterday morning was working with the group.

‘Maybe the break can do you good. He didn’t look any different yesterday and was sharp and trained very well.

‘He’s a fit lad and had a good run of games in the first half of the season, so we are expecting him to hit the ground running.

‘He’s available for AFC Wimbledon tonight and we look forward to welcoming him back.’

Curtis hasn’t featured for a month, his last appearance coming in the 2-0 victory at Hull seven days before Christmas.

Subsequently, the Blues had matches against Swindon, Bristol Rovers and Accrington postponed.

When they returned to action at Bristol City in the FA Cup on January 10, Curtis was sidelined over coronavirus fears.

He also missed trips to Peterborough and Fleetwood, but is now available for selection.

Curtis has made 24 appearances this season, scoring eight times, his last goal arriving in November against Crewe.
