Portsmouth target moves a little closer after confirmed improved bid as rivals near key signing

The new campaign will take a big step forward next week for Portsmouth with the release of the fixture list. It has been confirmed by the EFL things will get underway on 12 September with the Carabao Cup scheduled to begin the previous week. Pompey will have to contend with ELEVEN midweek fixture cards with the regular season finishing in the second week of May.

It is sure to be an interesting intervening period with the salary cap.
