Jordy Hiwula bagged a double and Haji Mnoga netted his first goal for his boyhood club at Whaddon Road.

The Blues are still holders of the competition, having defeated Sunderland on penalties in front of a sold-out Wembley in March 2019.

Pompey are also in the final of last season’s competition. The clash with Salford was postponed amid the coronavirus outbreak and a date is still to be rearranged.

Kenny Jackett’s side are currently only three wins away from another appearance at the national stadium.

Pompey defeated Peterborough 2-0 in League One on Saturday. Jack Whatmough and Tom Naylor netted second-half goals.
