But Kenny Jackett confirmed he won’t feature against the League Two high-fliers.

Instead, he wants the 23-year-old fit and available for Saturday’s league trip to Fleetwood.

Jackett confirmed: ‘He (Andy) is good and trained this morning.

‘I’m not going to risk him tomorrow, but I expect him to be fit and available for Fleetwood.

‘So I’m not going to risk it with one day’s training and then straight into it tomorrow.

‘He’ll be training with the youth team on Tuesday morning, have a real good week, and then go up with us on Friday to Fleetwood.’

Cannon has made 21 appearances for Pompey this season, with his last game being the 2-0 win against Sunderland on February 1.
