The Blues have made an unsatisfactory start to the campaign, collecting just two points from their opening three games.
Calls for Kenny Jackett to be sacked by fans have increased and the boss knows he must deliver at the Pirelli Stadium.
Following last weekend’s insipid 2-1 loss to Wigan, Jackett may look to make changes to his starting XI against the Brewers.
Here’s a look at how Pompey could line-up...
1. Goalkeeper - Craig MacGillivray
Alex Bass has returned from injury, but MacGillivray's done little wrong this season to lose his spot. Photo: Joe Pepler
2. Right-back - Callum Johnson
The defender is still searching for his first league win since arriving from Accrington. Was rightly frustrated after last week's defeat to Wigan when speaking to the press afterwards. Photo: Joe Pepler
3. Centre-back - Jack Whatmough
Been one of the few players who can hold their head up so far this season. The defender's been in excellent form. Photo: Joe Pepler
4. Centre-back - Sean Raggett
Will be getting pushed by Rasmus Nicolaisen in training, but Raggett may still keep his spot with Pompey conceding only twice in three league games. Photo: Joe Pepler
