Jackett reckons the EFL will be looking at both tonight’s government update and how the Premier League react to any changes to the lockdown.
Despite talk of an imminent cancellation, the Pompey boss feels it still may take weeks before the way forward is decided for lower league clubs.
Jackett said: ‘The first thing everyone is waiting for is the latest government update on where they’re going to take it, whether it’s continued lockdown or easing of the lockdown.

‘Then it’s what stage the EFL can come back as well.
‘Maybe not immediately, but certainly through May some decisions need to be made on this season, because we’re getting to the sharp end in terms of time and turnaround.
‘If we do that is it behind closed doors, which obviously looks likely, then it’s what is the plan?
‘I’m sure through the course of this particular month a lot of those questions will be answered.
‘Time is going to be difficult for us through May, but we are going to have to make decisions though the course of this month. The powers that be will have to.’
