Top two extend 100 per cent records in Portsmouth Sunday League

The top two in Division 2 of the Portsmouth Sunday League both extended their 100 per cent records.

John Chabala and Reece Tuppen netted as leaders Seagull defeated Freehouse 2-1 for their third win of 2020/21.Luke Baker replied.

Second placed AFC Leigh Park defeated Friends Fighting Cancer 3-1 with goals from Tommy Russell, Cullum Curtis and Harry Fordham. Ryan Goodall replied.

The only game in Division 1 saw AFC Southdowns beat third-placed Purbrook United 3-2.

Brandon Elliott, Liam Kimber and Kim Traves gave them their first league win of the season, while Dan Brown and Matt Burrows replied.

In Division 3, Old Boys Athletic missed the chance to go top.

With leaders AFC Bedhampton Village inactive, Old Boys Athletic could only draw 1-1 with Friends Fighting Cancer Reserves.

Michael Jepson netted for FFC with Old Boys’ Luke Chalcroft replying with his 19th goal of the season.

Bottom club Cross Keys Athletic were close to bagging their first points of the season.

Entering their game with Fleur de Lys having lost their opening five league games, they took the lead when Stevie Mitchell scored with a long-range free kick.

Fleur levelled almost immediately when Lewis Kilford converted a penalty, but CRoss Keys were back in front when Jamie Hayden beat the offside trap to smash home.

But the search for points continues as Joe Morley and Andy Cameron gave Fleur a 3-2 victory.

Ben Pascoe struck four goals as Freehouse B handed out an 8-4 drubbing to Horndean United Reserves in Division 6.

Horndean started the better side and were unlucky not to be 2-0 up in the first 15 mins after two great chances went to waste from corners.

Freehouse took the lead against the run of play with Pascoe’s opening goal.

This lifted their spirits and they opened up a 4-0 lead with further goals from Max Dixon (2) and Craig Shaw.

Deans hit back before half-time with goals from Jake Burley and Tom White. They struck again just after the restart, Burley again on target, but Pascoe completed his hat-trick to make it 6-3.

Deans wouldn't go down without a fight and Adam Russell grabbed a fourth goal, before Freehouse rounded off the scoring through Rhys Jones and Pascoe.

Dan Mortimer belted a hat-trick as North End Lions hammered AFC Trades Reserves 10-1.

Luke Armstrong, Luke Donnelly and Kent Pryer all scored twice with Sam Hibbert completing the rout and Ivon Mayor replying.

Bradley Hurt (4), George Barber and Shaun Tee netted as Jubilee caned AFC Fairfields 6-0 on the 3G surface at Westleigh Park.

Padnell Rovers defeated Fratton Trades A 5-2 with Harry Hatherley, Zak James, Owen Read, Joe Spencer and Jay Saunders on target. Lee Davies and Michael Brown replied.

Fraser Flynn and Jason Green netted as Horndean Hawks drew 2-2 with FC Fenix.
