‘Christchurch are a big, strong, powerful and well-organised side,’ he praised.

‘They also have a player (Ron Frost) who can throw the ball longer than anything I have ever seen.

‘That means every throw-in in our half of the pitch will be like a set-piece.

‘Christchurch will throw their big boys forward and we have to be able to deal with it.

‘They also have pacy players up top who like to turn the defence as early as they can.

‘Christchurch have only conceded 18 goals and that's down to them liking to play high up the pitch.’

The Dorset club are fourth, 12 points adrift of leaders AFC Stoneham but with six games in hand.

They have only lost one of their last 13 league games, a run stretching back to late October.

‘It is going to be a very tough game,’ Birmingham continued.

‘We will have to be brave and keep our concentration at all times.

‘If we don't then they will punish us.

‘The players won't be able to relax when the ball goes out for a throw-in because of their threat.

‘It is important that we stand up to them because they will ask a lot of questions.

‘If we are to get a result, we have to be prepared to hunt the ball down and do the ugly side of the game.

‘Basically, we will need to be brave.’

The home side are without skipper Ash Howes who remains suspended.
