Woods takes Sunday goal tally to 26 in eight games as Wicor Mill extend winning Portsmouth League start

They are now nine points clear at the top after hammering second-placed Cosham Trades 9-0.

James King and Ben Stabb both netted twice against Cosham as Wicor took their league goal tally to 48 in six games.

Saturn Royale defeated Fratton Trades 4-3 with goals from Mark Chukwuma, Nathan Craig, Conor Fitzjohn and Almus Stapleton.

Division 3 leaders AFC Bedhampton Village dropped their first points of the season.

After opening with four successive wins, they were held 3-3 by Golden Hind, who netted through Harry Tumber (2) and James Cowen.

Michael Granger netted twice as Horndean United thrashed second-bottom AFC Eastney In Division 5.

Granger started the spree after 10 minutes, picking the ball up on the edge of the Eastney area and firing home.

It was soon 2-0 when Peter Snaith latched onto a through ball to sidefoot in.

The third came just before half-time when Eastney’s keeper, who had made several great saves, palmed a close-range shot out only for Granger to fire home the rebound.

After the break Granger turned provider when he saw his left-wing cross nodded home by Snaith.

A one-two between Granger and Jack Jerome saw the latter score from a tight angle and Andrew Jamieson headed home the final goal from a corner.

Fratton Trades Reserves moved up to second place with a 5-2 win against Hatton Rovers.

Barry Jeans took his tally to nine for the season with a double strike with Mitchell Smith, Andy Turnbull and Sean Barnes also on target.

Honours were even when the top two teams in Division 6 met.

Second-placed FC Fenix took the lead against table-topping Padnell Rovers through Ash Sills, but Rovers hit back when Brad Ottaway fired home from 20 yards.

Rovers’ took the lead when Harry Hatherley fired home from the spot and increased their lead with a strike from Jake Hampton.

But Fenix hit back through a great Chris Bearpark free-kick and grabbed a point when Steve Counsell capitalised on a defensive mix-up.
