The Blue and Golds are yet to chalk up a single win on their travels this season but coach Neil McRoberts believes their first success isn’t far away.

With Chiswick just one place above them, the visitors might feel this is their best chance.

‘Last season we rarely looked like winning away from home but this season I think we are different,’ said McRoberts.

‘Away from home you need to display a degree of ruggedness and rawness to grind out a victory.

‘Alhough on paper it looks as though we have not been close, that is not the case.

‘In a number of games we have had every opportunity to come away with a win.

‘In the second half of the season we have to be more clinical and show the killer instinct needed to score early points.

‘If we can do that then we will give ourselves every chance.’

Fareham Heathens have a great opportunity to close the gap on the top two in Hampshire one.

Bernie Rhodes takes a full strength squad to lowly Petersfield.

And the visitors are in a buoyant mood after their win at leaders Bognor before Christmas.

The top two sides – Bognor and Millbrook – are playing each other, so Heathens know one of their closest rivals will drop points.

‘If we reproduce the performance at Bognor then we will come away with a win,’ said Rhodes.

‘Petersfield are having a tough time but it is never an easy place to go.

‘We have to view all our remaining games as cup finals because once we lose, our chances of the title will be gone.’

The visitors are boosted by the return of powerful centre Tom Baxter from his six-month stint at sea with the merchant navy.

Locks Heath Pumas are hoping their midweek coaching session with England full-back Mike Brown can inspire them to beat Sandown & Shanklin.

Pumas won the prized session after entering Land Rover Rugby ‘Wear Your Club Socks To Work’ competition.

‘The lads are buzzing and it was a great experience for them, said coach Nathan Moore.

‘We are very positive going into this game and are fielding a strong side.’

The home side have John Barfoot and Stone Hewer returning to the forwards.
