Havant looking to keep pressure on in title race

Determined Havant will be chasing another victory to turn up the heat at the top of National League men's conference west when they face Oxford Hawks on Sunday.

A successful trip to Team Bath last weekend saw the Barncroft Way side climb to third in the table, writes Chris Pickett.

They now have 15 points and need to keep up the pressure on the top side University of Birmingham and second-placed Olton & West Warwick.

Oxford defeated University of Bristol last weekend 3-2 and they now sit in fifth position in the table on 13 points.

They recruited well after last season with a couple of players coming from premier club Reading.

Oxford have a gap of six points between themselves and Fareham who are currently in sixth position.

Midfielder Charlie Stubbings will be looking to continue his excellent scoring form for Havant.

He is equal fifth on the goal charts for the division and converted a penalty stroke in the win at Bath.

Havant have two remaining league games before the Christmas break.

They currently have no injury concerns.

Sunday's game will push back at 2pm at Banbury Road Sports Ground.

Havant Ladies face Marlow on Saturday, pushing back at 1.30pm at Havant College.

They have four games left before the Christmas break in South Clubs' Women's League division two.

Marlow moved to the top of the table last weekend. They climbed above Guildford with a 5-3 victory.

Havant lost 4-0 away at Surbiton last Saturday. They are in 10th position in the table on four points.
