Leigh Park lead way as Parsons pockets perfect start

Bill Parsons started the ball rolling with a big win over Harry Yard but Andy White made it 1-1.

The ‘Workies’ then took charge thanks to Steve Scott, Pete Ferguson and Richard Burnett.

The latter won by nearly 100 to make sure of the aggregate.

His son Richie was not so happy losing the last game to Chris Bishop.

Copnor F went down 4-3 to Pompey Royals and are down to second.

Steve Orchard put the Stationsiders ahead then Darren Harper pipped Chad Wainwright to level.

Leroy Grigg and skipper Rob Derry made it 3-1 to Copnor mid-match but joy was short-lived as Jon Challacombe and Paul Chivers changed it around beating Gary Green and young Rob Derry.

The bonus point was decided 845-840 in favour of the Royals.

Copnor B were the big hitters in the top flight, whitewashing their C team.

Luck was on their side in three of the six pairings.

Norman Bradfield won by two points, Matt Hannam by seven and Steve Kearn by four.

The unlucky cueists were Steve Lawrence, John V and Phil Ledington respectively.
