Gareth Davis had a chance to win it for the visitors at the death but his penalty shot fell short.

Head coach Will Knight felt it was a frustrating afternoon for the visitors.

He said: '˜To be fair we probably played the better rugby again.

'˜Unfortunately we left far too many scoring opportunities out there

'˜Those eventually came back to bite us.

'˜We have to learn to control the ball better when we get close to the opposition line and not panic.'

A missed tackle allowed Chobham to lead after only three minutes but the visitors hit back quickly.

Armundus Morgan went over for a try, converted by Gareth Davis, after a series of driving mauls.

The two sides swapped penalties before Jerome Trail finished off a superb Joel Knight break from inside his own twenty-two.

Chobham reduced the arrears with penalties either side of half-time with Davis replying in kind.

Knight added another Havant try but the hosts got their winning score ten minutes from the end.
