Portsmouth 4ths are now just two points clear at the top of Hampshire Division 8 after a 1-1 draw with Isle of Wight 2nds.

Pete Wingate grabbed Portsmouth’s goal, and Bryan Hodges was man of the match for his defensive display.

Second-placed US Portsmouth 2nds took advantage by beating third-placed Southampton Otters 4-0.

Gary Bull celebrated his Portsmouth Vets debut with a brace in a 7-1 victory over Salisbury.

The midfielder struck twice in a second half featuring five Portsmouth goals.

After John Pratt had deflected in a fierce, knee high Pete Rayner shot to open the scoring, Salisbury's continual pressure resulted in an equaliser.

Tim Schofield converted a penalty stroke to put the hosts back in front at the interval.

Rayner made it 3-1 following good approach work by Mark Wheeler before Schofield (penalty), Bull and Pratt completed the rout.
