Former Portsmouth all-rounder Fraser Hay in impressive batting form for new Australian club Gosnells

He struck 108 for his new club, Gosnells, against Waneroo - but in a losing cause as Waneroo easily overhauled Gosnells' 228 to win by seven wickets.

Hay has been in good nick for Gosnells since moving from Melville, scoring 101 against South Perth and 65 against his old team-mates.

His 308 run tally from five innings puts him second in the WACA Premiership batting log.

Hay spent four seasons with Portsmouth from 2016 to 2019, scoring 2,212 Southern Premier League Division 1 runs, including five centuries, at 45.14.

His best season with the bat was in 2019, when he scored 878 SPL runs at 41.81.

His highest innings was 159 off 120 balls against Bournemouth in 2016, with 21 fours and five sixes at St Helens.

Hay’s second highest score was 135 off 90 balls against Andover at the same ground in 2019.

Also in 2016, he hit 109 not out against Romsey, sharing a first wicket stand of 139 with Jack Marston, whose contribution was just 21.

In addition to his runs, Hay also took 111 SPL wickets at 17.74 in his four seasons at Portsmouth.

His best season with the ball was also in 2019, when he bagged 41 league wickets at 18.29.

Hay’s best bowling for the club was 6-36 in a 10-wicket thrashing of New Milton at Fernhill in 2019.

The all-rounder also appeared in 17 2nd XI matches for Hampshire during his time at Portsmouth.
