Six members of title-winning Vipers side sign for Hundred franchise Southern Brave
Six members of the Southern Vipers squad which won the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Trophy in 2020 will play for the Southern Brave in the delayed inaugural edition of The Hundred.
England World Cup winner Danni Wyatt, Paige Scholfield, Maia Bouchier, Freya Kemp, Tara Norris and Carla Rudd have all signed up for the franchise.
Wyatt and Scholfield were due to play for Brave last summer prior to the event being mothballed for 12 months due to the pandemic.
Opening bat Wyatt holds the record for the highest IT20 score by any England player with a blistering 124 from 64 balls against India in 2018.
Pompey fan Anya Shrubsole is another who was due to play for Brave in 2020 who has been retained.
All the women’s games next year will, like the men’s team, be played at Hampshire’s Ageas Bowl.
Hampshire pair James Vince and Liam Dawson have also confirmed they are remaining with the Brave.
Sussex quartet - Chris Jordan, George Garton, Tymal Mills and Delray Rawlins - are likewise staying with the franchise.
Global stars Jofra Archer and Stefanie Taylor had previously committed themselves to playing for Brave in the controversial 100-ball format.
