Goal spree ensures Hawks are feeling so positive for FC Halifax contest
Lee Bradbury insists the Hawks can capitalise on their '˜massive boost' in midweek as they welcome FC Halifax Town to Westleigh Park.
The 7-0 thumping of Maidenhead United provided a timely lift.
With matches coming quickly against teams around them in the National League it is the perfect time to hit form.
Hawks are gunning to win successive games in the division for the first time.Â
The boss was really pleased to see the way his players performed in the key midweek match.
He said: '˜We need to play with the same attitude and tempo we showed.
'˜That is the level of performance we need to produce week after week.
'˜It has given us a massive boost.
'˜We have to take a lot of confidence from it but at the same time keep our feet on the ground.
'˜There is still a long way to go but performances like that certainly help.
'˜It should do us the world of good and a lot of players would have gained a lot of confidence from it.
'˜We must replicate our consistency with the ball and the intelligence we played with.'
The Hawks are still plagued with injury problems but the return of Rory Williams was a tonic.
Though he was taken off at the interval it was mainly a precautionary move.
Wes Fogden, Mike Carter, Ed Harris, Jordan Rose, Theo Lewis, Paul Robinson and Ibra Sekajja are all unlikely to feature.
The return of Alfie Rutherford from his loan spell at Eastbourne Borough gives Bradbury an extra option in attack.
Both Rutherford and Alfie Pavey grabbed a brace in midweek.
The Hawks boss added: '˜They showed what good finishers they are.
'˜They linked up really well and looked a real threat in the final 20 minutes of the game.'
Bradbury recognises the Hawks are heading into a vital stage of the season.
He sees a mini group forming in the race to stay up.
'˜The next four games are massive for us,' added the manager.
'˜Three of them are against the teams directly above us.
'˜It will be a little mini-league for the bottom eight teams.
'˜We have to make sure we finish in the top four of it.
'˜If we do that then we stay up.'
