‘We need to be taking a strong squad to places like Maidstone but once again we have problems,’ said head coach Neil McRoberts.

‘Team selection is up in the air because of injuries and players that can’t travel.

‘It is something that as a club we need to address.

‘Maidstone are a good outfit, as they showed when they beat us at Gosport Park earlier this season.

‘We will have to knuckle down and be ready for a fight if we are to get anything from the game.

‘At the moment we are only out of the bottom three courtesy of the bonus point picked up in our last game.

‘We have to match or better Dover’s result to stay out of the relegation zone.’

The visitors have been badly hit by the news they will be without Mark Pollard and Tom Blackburn for the rest of the season.

Sam Foster has work commitments, while Ben Lanigan, Wayne Dugan and Tom Lewis face fitness tests.

Title-chasing Fareham Heathens travel to fierce-rivals Locks Heath Pumas at Brookfield School in Hampshire one (2pm).

The visitors have not lost since the opening day of the season but coach Bernie Rhodes is wary of his hosts.

‘Locks Heath might be bottom but that won’t make any difference in the fiercest of rivalries,’ said Rhodes.

‘They play on a small school pitch, which means there tends not to be many points scored.

‘It is almost certainly going to be heavy and we will have to make sure we adapt to the conditions.

‘Discipline will be important because in the past these games have boiled over.

‘The last thing we want to do is slip up in this fixture.’

Pumas coach Nathan Moore admits his team will be up for the game.

He said: ‘We would love to pick up points in our survival bid and also put a dent in Fareham’s title march.’
