Victorious Festival tease big name for 2023's event with sign on Southsea's Castle Field

THE Victorious Festival organisers have just dropped a huge hint as to one of the big names who could be playing at next summer’s event.

The event’s social media accounts have posted a picture online this evening of a sign in Castle Field lit up and reading ‘Space Cowboy’, with the message: ‘Just going to leave this here...’

Space Cowboy was an early hit by popstars Jamiroquai – and the sign also features their distinctive logo.

The 1994 hit is just one 25 top 40 singles, which also include Virtual Insanity – with its memorable award-winning video, Canned Heat, Deeper Underground and Little L among many more.

The band, fronted by Jay Kay, who is renowned for his outrageous headwear and funky dance moves, have sold more than 26m albums over the course of their 30 year career.

In previous years organisers have used similar tactics to tease forthcoming acts such as New Order and Madness, among others.

The organisers have yet to make any official announcement about next year’s event, which runs from August 25-27. It will feature a full line-up across all three days for the first time next year.

There was a recent setback though, when plans to have ‘glamping’ on Alexandra Park in Hilsea were dropped after opposition from residents.

Last year’s outing featured headline turns from Stereophonics, Paolo Nutini and Sam Fender.
