Great Victorian gun will be fired at fort

Uniformed detachments from the Portsdown Artillery Volunteers will fire the 110–pounder rifled breech-loading gun from the ramparts at Fort Nelson at 11.30am, 2pm and 3pm, tomorrow. There will also be a firing of the 25-pounder Howitzer at 1pm.

Operations manager Nigel Hosier said: ‘This is a great opportunity to see the Victorian gun in action against the fabulous backdrop of our fully restored Palmerston fort.’
