Last year, around 80 cyclists rode in a loop from the beach huts opposite Coffee Cup in Southsea, along the seafront and to The Hard, where they stopped for a break to hand out leaflets. They then rode through the city back to the beach.

The event has drawn criticism in recent years, with deputy council leader Luke Stubbs calling on then police and crime commissioner Simon Hayes to impose tough restrictions and the route should stay clear of residential areas.
