Boomtown, Victorious giveaways and Balearic beats in Sam Cherry's Club Scene

This weekend sees another huge UK festival taking place in our part of the world: Boomtown!

This year, at The Matterley Estate, near Winchester, is looking to be massive with the likes of Slaves, Lauryn Hill, Prophets of Rage, The Streets, Carl Cox and Little Simz among the hundreds of acts! Tomorrow over at Acapulco on Albert Road, Southsea, DJ Warren will host Café Del Acapulco for those that have Ibiza blues or are unable to attend the white isle this summer. DJ Warren promises pure Balearic bliss and its free entry from 7pm until 12.30am. More details at facebook.com.

Meanwhile over at Lord John Russell, also on Albert Road, Groover Washington will be supplying the classic vibes with plenty of deep, funky and soulful house music all night long from 8pm until 2am.

On Sunday night from 5.30pm until 8.30pm, Drift in Palmerston Road, hosts an Ed Sheeran tribute night with Matt Fisher. Matt is highly regarded as a great tribute to the international popstar and the event will be free, followed by Tropical DJs until late. More details at facebook.com.

On Monday, Delight Alternative night holds its Victorious Festival tickets giveaway at The Astoria on Guildhall Walk from 10pm until 2am. Tickets and T-shirts can be won in their rock/paper/scissors battle royale!

For something a bit different this week, on Wednesday, the GamesMaster Retro Beercade begins at the Staggeringly Good pub, The House of Rapture, in Fratton.

From midday, Staggeringly Good is teaming up with Game Over Cafe to present a retro gaming tournament which is free to spectate or £10 to enter and play.
