Portsmouth one-day music festival Dials adds new names to its line-up

Dials, the one-day multi-venue music festival devoted to the best in new music, has today announced the rest of its line-up.

There's indie-punk from Yassassin, one of the most exciting new bands in the country right now return to the city after receiving much praise for their raucous set at Portsmouth Psych Fest earlier this year and having stormed Brighton's Great Escape, Citadel and Y-Not this summer. 

Also confirmed is singer and four-time UK beatboxing champion Grace Savage who was previously named as one of Elle magazine's 100 most inspiring women. Her incredible delivery of beats and sounds made just with her voice never fails to stagger audiences.

Other additions are electronic duo Fröst, a relatively new project formed by Steve Lewis from Fujiya & Miyagi and French-Swedish sound artist Johanna Bramli. Fröst make music that has similarities to the likes of Stereolab, Saint Etienne, Broadcast and Electrelane and their recent single Record Still Spinning has found support from the likes of 6 Music's Lauren Laverne and various online blogs.

Also heading to Dials 2018 will be London four-piece Krush Puppies who will bring grunge and fuzz noises aplenty and two Portsmouth-based acts, folk singer songwriter Megan Linford and the jazzy-voiced Dani Uziel.

After the live music stops the party will continue in Southsea's The Edge of The Wedge with DJ Luke Joynes spinning indie bangers, alongside more guest DJs who are still to be announced.

They join the previously announced Tiger Cub, Estrons, Art School Girlfriend, Jerry Williams, Melt Dunes and Hotel Lux.

Dials Festival is an independent festival and has nominated Solent Mind as its official charity partner. Solent Mind provide a range of services to support people with mental health problems.

Any profits made by the festival will be given to Solent Mind and it will be present at a number of the festival venues for punters to access information about their services.

Tickets are £16.

It takes place at The Wedgewood Rooms, Edge Of The Wedge, The Loft, Wine Vaults and Bar Acapulco, all on Albert Road, Southsea.
