Portsmouth traffic slow as major road closed for second weekend

Important work carried out on the Eastern Road bridge has lead to the closure on part of the busy carriageway.

The southbound carriageway of Eastern Road was closed from 9pm last night until around 6am this morning.

One lane is open before closing again at 4pm this afternoon and remaining shut until 5am on Monday.

The closure is between Anchorage Park and the Eastern Road roundabout.

The northbound carriageway will be reduced to one lane during the same periods and in the same area.

‘The council is so stupid.’

Jayson Toole wrote to his partner saying: ‘No going to town for you then baby.’

‘Hoping my journey home is as smooth.’
