Other major acts include street dance troupe Diversity, boy band 5ive, X Factor winner Sam Bailey, English pop rockers Scouting for Girls and The Hoosiers.

The two-day spectacle kicks off on Saturday.

And ahead of the occasion, workers have been busy preparing the main stage and getting stalls, barriers and a giant circus tent up for guests ahead of their arrival.

A programme of family activities has been drawn up, including a Big Top with a petting zoo, demonstrations from karate and dance troupes and a funfair.

Guests will be treated to craft and street food stalls and bars, art galleries and a bouncy castle.

Local organisations including Portsmouth Watersports Centre will also be represented.

The organisers – also responsible for the hugely popular Victorious Festival on Southsea Common – hope to pull in crowds of up to 40,000 people, 20,000 per day.

Co-organiser Andy Marsh said he was fired up for the occasion.

He said: ‘It’s the beginning of the summer plus the bank holiday, so everyone is geared up for it.

‘We’re really pleased with the acts.

‘It’s nice that it’s happening over two days this year and the fact that we have a more diverse amount of acts.

‘There’s something for everyone.

‘It’s mainly pop-led, but there’s a bit of indie stuff in there as well, plus there are a lot of local acts too, which are really good fun.

‘My job at the moment is to sort out all of the artists to make sure they are happy.

‘But all of the team are really geared up for it.’

The event site will be open from 11am to 11pm each day.
