Whether it is a fabulous festive walk, enjoying festive food or a Christmas activity you are not short on things to do which will help make some magical memories. Here are are top nine recommendations:
5. Keydell's festive walk
The popular festive walk at Keydell Nurseries in Horndean is a firm family favourite for many, featuring magic scenes, photo opportunities and (of course) some reindeer. You can also combine it with a trip to see the big man himself, as well as pay a visit to the garden centre's fantastic Christmas decorations shop.

6. Gunwharf Christmas Village
There are a number of Christmas markets across the area, but the one at Gunwharf Quays is our favourite with number of festive stalls, food and drink and rides on offer - with fruit crumble and Yorkshire Pudding wraps among this year's offerings. The lights in Gunwharf themselves are also gorgeous and you can pay a visit to soak up the atmosphere and grab a cup of hot chocolate to get into the festive spirit.

7. Meet Father Christmas
It goes without saying that a visit to see Father Christmas is a festive must - and so many of our shopping centres, libraries, garden centres and other community organisations have penciled in dates for the big man to visit! Photo: Daniel Martino
8. Fabulous festive lights
Fabulous festive lights can be found on a large number of houses and streets across the city and in the surrounding towns and villages - and a walk to find some of the best is a great festive activity for al of the family. A number also raise money for charity including this one by Bill and Barbara Wright in The Crossway, Portchester.
