For four thrilling days in July, the beautiful surroundings of Goodwood House near Chichester, West Sussex, are the setting for roaring engines, thrilling races and some legendary names from the world of motorsport.

What makes it so special is the chance to get really close to some of the greatest cars – renowned vehicles that have conquered the world’s most fiercely fought races will be there.

So too will be some of the drivers who have written their names in racing history, current heroes of the track and future stars. Who wouldn’t want a selfie with the next George Russell or Max Verstappen?

What’s on

This year’s Festival, between July 13 and 16, is expected to be even more popular.

Fans of Drive to Survive will have the chance to be within inches of some of the amazing racing cars from Formula 1’s greatest teams – a near impossibility at a busy F1 race meeting when everything is well out of reach.

Instead, the Festival’s Formula 1 Pit Lane Presented by Sky, sees iconic racing cars from all eras of the sport lined up on display and even in action as they tackle the hillclimb, a hotly contested 1.16 uphill challenge that is one of the weekend’s big highlights.

So too is the chance to see some of the world’s greatest rally drivers put their cars through their paces at the Forest Rally Stage, twisting and turning their way through a narrow tree-line course that is not for the faint-hearted.

While this year is even more special as Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard prepares to celebrate the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and its own 75th anniversary of hosting motorsport events.

Hollywood glamour

But there’s more to the festival, and plenty for ‘non-petrolheads’ to enjoy. Such as jaw-dropping motorcycle and BMX stunts, thrilling aerial displays, glamorous supercars and stylish, as well as incredibly rare, classic sports cars.

There are also plenty of places to shop, eat, drink and people watch – famous faces spotted at previous Festival of Speed weekends include Tom Cruise, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.
