Dance student Lucy Jones catches a Southern service from Cosham to Chichester four times a week for her studies, but in recent months has had to face a stream of delays and cancellations.

So after recent strike action by drivers and conductors, the 16-year-old decided to make her own video to show people the impact on her journey.

The clip, which has been widely shared on social media, shows Lucy’s typical trip home from Chichester - with a delayed train added in for good measure.

Speaking to The News, she said: ‘I was just joking around with friends. It is relatable to so many people.

‘I always have to wait a long time and it takes ages to get home each day.

‘When there are strikes on I have to take two trains and a replacement bus.’

Commuters have faced major delays this week after a three-day strike by the RMT union due to a dispute over the role of conductors.

Union members have also announced industrial action will take place next week, and over the New Year period.
