Why Pink Floyd's music will help premature babies born in PortsmouthÂ

The charity was formed by Robyn and Ryan Bendon after they tragically lost their son Jesse at just five days old.

Money raised from ticket sales will go to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Queen Alexandra Hospital where Jesse was cared for after being born at just 23 weeks and five days. 

Grandfather, Philip Bendon, said: '˜We have raised money to support the unit after my grandson lost his fight for life after just five days. The proceeds will go towards providing new incubators and other vital life preserving equipment. At Christmas we also use some of the money raised to buy presents for patients on the Children's Ward.'

The band combine live musical performance with the latest digital technology to deliver fan favourites from across Pink Floyd's back catalogue including hits from the albums Wish You Were Here and Dark Side Of The Moon. The rendition of the classic anthem Another Brick in the Wall will include the voices of 20 students from Admiral Lord Nelson School.

The concert will take place tomorrow with doors opening at 7.30pm. So far 455 tickets have been sold with a further 328 remaining. Tickets cost £20 and can be purchased by phoning the theatre box office or using their online booking system. To take advantage of a two for one offer quote the promotional code Floyd 22. The charity has so far raised £38,000 to support the care of premature and new born babies and Mr Bendon is hopeful of a large turnout to raise additional funds.

'˜Every single penny the public donate will be spent on supporting research and equipment at the neonatal centre,' explained Mr Bendon.
