First Bus took part in a coffee morning to raise money for the Wessex Haven in Titchfield which offers support and counselling for people diagnosed with breast cancer.

The bus firm took part in the charity’s Big Tea Cosy event. By selling cakes, holding coffee mornings and selling raffle tickets, staff were able to raise £439.

Chrissie Bainbridge, business performance director of First Hampshire, said: ‘I am absolutely thrilled with the way the staff at our depots have got right behind fundraising for the Wessex Haven.

‘Breast cancer touches the lives of so many of our staff and their families that it seemed a natural choice to help the Wessex Haven raise money for the wonderful work it is now doing.’

The Wessex Haven in Titchfield opened last October and has helped more than 170 people.
