A COMPANY is hoping to raise thousands of pounds to help hospices.

Covers Timber and Builders Merchants is aiming to raise £25,000 to help hospices, including The Rowans Hospice in Purbrook.

Between September 12 and September 17, Covers, which has depots in Portsmouth and Gosport, will hold a Help for Hospices Week and will donate £1 for each registered customer who makes a purchase during the week.

The company has pledged to give £20,000 of their own money to kick-start the campaign.

On September 16, volunteers from The Rowans will join Covers staff at the Portsmouth and Gosport depots to sell homemade treats.

Rupert Green, chairman of Covers, said: ‘We are delighted to be running our Help for Hospices fundraising event for a second consecutive year.

‘Every contribution will count so we hope as many people as possible will join us to support these amazing charities.’
