Data shows shopping trends

TRENDS data compiled by online shopping service Amazon.co.uk has revealed that Sunday, June 4 is when the British summer will really kick-off this year.

The company looked at data from 2013 until 2016 that showed when summer-related products such as sun loungers, paddling pools, fans and barbecues saw a spike in sales.

One day – June 4 – saw a spike of 380 per cent over the past three years, pinpointing when summer actually begins according to people up and down the country.

The first full week in June has also been the bestselling week for summer-related products over the past five years, with Norpro Ice Pop Makers, Zoggy Dive Sticks and Bestway Delux Family Pools proving perennial best sellers.

Amazon.co.uk released the findings to coincide with the launch of its #NowItsSummer store. It launched its one-hour delivery service Prime Now in Portsmouth earlier this year.
