Organisers hope the spectacle – capable of holding 120,000 visitors over the two days – could be a sell-out.

Victorious Festival director Andy Marsh said: ‘We’re down on site putting up the main stage, which is pretty exciting.

‘I know ticket sales are going better than last year, and that’s when we saw 100,000 people come to Victorious over the weekend, so we’re confident this year could be a sell-out. Everything is positive.

‘It feels like there’s a clear run-up to the event now and everything is slotting into place.

The service has revealed it wants to put on extra journeys so spectators are able to get to and from the music spectacle.

Bosses say they are analysing how much demand there will be for more crossings over the weekend and will be publishing more details next week.

People are being asked to leave a comment saying when they intend to leave the festival on the Hayling Ferry Facebook page so a plan can be worked up. A community celebration was held this month marking the ferry’s return.
