There were long delays on the M27 between Fareham and Whiteley this afternoon following a crash between a lorry and car.

All lanes are now open after the collision involving the lorry and a red Ford B-Max Zetec.

Drivers were warned to expect long waits as all three lanes of the westbound carriageway between junction 10 and junction 9 were closed for around an hour.

Emergency services attended following the incident at 11.55am today.

A spokesman from Hampshire Police said: ‘The westbound carriageway was closed between junctions 10 and 9.

‘The incident involved a lorry and a red Ford B-Max Zetec.

‘Fire and ambulance services were called to the scene too.

‘We believe the car driver had neck pains and the fire service were removing the roof.’
