A WOMAN thought to be in her 80s is being hunted by police after a purse was stolen in a supermarket.

The theft happened after a 72-year-old woman who was shopping in Tesco noticed a woman brushing up against her.

A few minutes later she noticed her purse, which she had placed in her handbag in her trolley, was missing.

The purse contained £60 in cash and bank cards.

It happened in the Tesco in The Causeway, Petersfield, at about 3pm on Saturday, March 18.

Police have issued a CCTV still of two women they would like to speak to about the theft.

The first woman is white, his her late teens or earlier 20s, and about 5ft 8in.

She had dark hair with two ponytails and wore a black baseball cap, a long, grey jacket with a daffodil pin, blue jeans and white trainers, and was carrying a basket of shopping.

Police say the second woman was white, in her 80s, and about 5ft 6in.

She wore a dark coat, a leopard print scarf, a brown beanie hat and glasses.
