A Portsmouth motorist was caught by Surrey police driving without insurance or a licence '“ and left to walk home.
In a tweet, Surrey Roads Policing Unit said the person’s licence had been suspended by the DVLA in 2016.
When asked if they literally left drivers at the side of the road, they replied: ‘As long as it’s safe and legal, yes.’
