Women are the focus at free festival in Gosport

WOMEN will be celebrated at a free day of fun.

The Festival of Women will take place tomorrow at Nicholson Gardens, in Gosport.

The event, which runs from 12.30pm until 4.30pm, will have lots to see and do, from craft to great music, fashion and food. It has been organised by Jacky Charman and Gill Simmon.

Gill said: ‘Why not bring some old clothing and swop them in our swish event?

‘Swap the clothes that are lurking in your wardrobe, and let other girls fall in love with them and give them a good home.

‘You might bring one sweater and take two pairs of shoes, or hang a party frock on the Swishing Rail’ and take a pair of skinny jeans and feather boa, the choice is yours.’

There will be live music from Marlene Hill, a solo singer, and Afficappella, an African singing group, who sing gospel and Caribbean style music.

There will also be a tea and cakes stall with money raised donated to Women Against Domestic Violence.
