Next phase in Portsmouth hospital land redevelopment plans up for debate

THE next phase in the redevelopment of the St James' Hospital campus in Portsmouth is up for discussion.

The city’s health, overview and scrutiny panel will listen to what work is being done to re-configure its services and free up land for potential new development.

Chunks of the ‘phase two’ scheme include transferring a Junior Doctors’ Mess into a residential property close by.

Work is being done to refurbish St Mary’s Hospital’s B Block so more care can be provided there.

Detailed designs are in place for a new catering facility within the ground floor of Block A at St Mary’s to replace the existing facility in the St James’ main building.

The HOSP panel will meet to hear about the overall plans on Tuesday, March 7.
