The RCA was contacted by the 2nd Rowlands Castle Girl Guides asking for a donation towards two sturdy tents for a camping trip in February.

Joyce Jacobs, from the RCA, said: ‘We support quite a few groups in the village who are in need.

‘The Guides contacted us to say they needed new tents for a camping trip to Foxlease, near Lyndhurst, in the New Forest next February, but they couldn’t afford them.

‘We decided that, yes, we could help them and donated £529 to purchase the tents and ground sheets.

‘They are very sturdy and will certainly keep them warm and dry during the trip.’

Mrs Jacobs and the other members of the RCA visited the Guides at the Scout hut in Uplands Road.

They handed the cheque to leader Jane Beverage who was delighted the RCA was able to help.
