Portsmouth's Big Screen to celebrate Star Wars Day with Force Awakens showing

Stormtroopers will hit the streets and lightsabers will be drawn as Guildhall Square’s Big Screen is set to celebrate the day with a showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Star Wars Day, on Thursday, May 4 is a celebration based on a play on words of the popular phrase from the franchise ‘May the force be with you.’

It has become a day that is celebrated by fans of the popular sci-fi franchise all across the world.

The free event will start from 7pm and limited seating will be provided on a first-come first-served basis but people are also encouraged to bring their own chairs, picnics and blankets to keep warm during the showing.
