Archive video shows some of the stars of our 1968 Olympics squad going through their paces in Portsmouth.

They took part in last-minute competitions at the Alexandra Park track on the eve of their departure for Mexico City.

Stars shown in the British Pathe film include hammer thrower Howard Payne, sprinters Anita Neil and Lillian Board, and David Hemery, who won the gold medal in the 400 metres hurdles.
