The Petersfield rider joined forces with Ryan Owens and Jack Carlin to land Great Britain’s fifth victory of the meeting at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.

The trio got gradually quicker as they negotiated two heats before setting up a clash with the French in the final.

And Truman, formerly of Portsmouth-based i-Team, sprinted across the line to claim glory by almost a second.

He said: ‘Apparently I overuse the word but that was unreal!’
